The scanner comes standard with visible and infrared light sources. An optional UV light source provides reliable document authentication by revealing hidden security features.
The scanner includes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) as a standard feature, accurately reading data from both the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and the Visual Inspection Zone (VIZ).
Reads 1D and 2D barcodes from both paper documents and digital displays, including smartphones and other mobile devices. (OPTIONAL)
An RFID module can be added to enable reading of RFID chips (Radio Frequency Identification) embedded in biometric passports and other RFID-enabled documents.
For contactless data capture, the NFC (Near Field Communication) module can be added to provide contactless data capture and prepares the system for future identification technologies.
An optional bidirectional magnetic stripe reader mounted on the front of the device reads magnetic stripe cards quickly and reliably.
An optional module is available for reading smart cards and chip cards.
